The Holidays are here again 🙂 This time of the year means different things to different people, depending on your religion, your upbringing, where you live, and in general, the kind of person you have become over the years.
What the Holidays means to my family
For myself, becoming a parent (4 years ago and doubling down 2 years ago) has molded my personality to try to recognize and convey the best in the world to my kids.
At this age, I try to show them that patience, kindness, and selflessness can have a positive impact on our immediate surroundings, and in turn, the world. We donate food to the needy, clothes, and even toys my kids don't use anymore. I really think donating their toys teaches them a lot. Giving up your own possessions for the selfless benefit of helping others, not expecting anything in return.
But actually, you do get something.
The uplifting feeling that you have made a small difference in the lives of a few people.
We tend to get caught up in the rush of life. Chasing wealth, and not paying enough attention to what's really important.Â
I aim to take the time to be mindfully aware of my life, help others, and enjoy my family, friends, and the world. This is what I try to instill in my children as well.
Sorry for my rambling, now let's get to the point 🙂
The gift of music
This is also why I love teaching you guys through TheGuitarLesson.com. Learning music, then playing it to your friends and family creates an atmosphere of comfort and happiness. Seeing the smiles on the faces of your family members when you play a Christmas song during the Holidays is proof of this 🙂
You are awesome for learning guitar, really, and I am privileged to have the opportunity to pitch in and offer guidance.
As a small gift, I have made all lessons on the site free to everyone for 2 weeks, until January 7th. Simply log into your account, and you will have full access to all lessons, even if you're not a premium member.
If you hurry, you can still learn a Christmas song or two, or just go to the main lesson list and learn songs in any genre you like.
Have fun and Happy Holidays to you all!
Tom
