- Barre chords
Welcome to the 7th out of our 10 guitar lessons for beginners. I have to be honest, this will be a difficult lesson. We'll be learning about barre chords, how to finger them, and how to use them. Bar chords (also written as 'barre chords') are very very important for playing the guitar, so practice them a lot. The things I will teach you in this lesson are:
- the theory of bar chords
- E shaped major and minor bar chord fingering
- A shaped major and minor bar chord fingering
- a song based on 4 bar chords in the end
Barre chords are difficult for beginner guitarists, as you'll have to apply a lot of pressure to the neck of the guitar, to keep every string held down. Don't worry if it doesn't work out at first, it takes time. It's important to practice bar chords every day, and not get frustrated if they don't sound right at first. Practice every day, and you will enjoy the benefits!
